The Scottish Newspaper Society has joined forces with The Drum magazine to create a new set of awards to recognise the best work produced by the advertising departments of Scotland’s newspaper companies.
The magazine organises the annual Scottish Creative Awards and this year four new categories have been introduced specifically for newspaper companies, designed to recognise and encourage best practice within their commercial departments.
The new categories are; best display campaign/section, best classified campaign/section, best creative solution/invention campaign and best digital campaign.
SNS president Thelma Henderson said: “Be it digitally or in print, Scottish newspaper companies remain central to the way businesses connect with their customers and markets. So we are delighted to have established this partnership with The Drum to showcase the best examples of how the industry works with its clients.”
John McLellan, SNS director, added: “This is an exciting new venture for the SNS and such recognition of the excellent work going on in Scotland’s newspaper advertising and marketing departments is long overdue.”
An expert panel of judges is being assembled by the SNS commercial and advertising committee, the membership of which will be announced shortly.
Entries for the new categories can be submitted until Friday 22 August, with more information on entering available on the Scottish Creative Awards website.
The finalists for this year’s creative and strategy awards will be announced on Tuesday, August 12, and the award ceremony will be held on Thursday, October 9 at the Glasgow Marriott Hotel. Information on how to book tickets can also be found on the Scottish Creative Awards website.
The Scottish Creative Awards are supported by Eastern Exhibition & Display, Primesight, Chesterfield Group and News UK.
